(Feb. 21, 2019)–Fresh off what appeared to be her best race to date, trainer Gary Sherlock’s Show It N Moe It will renew acquaintances with Phil D’Amato’s S Y Sky as they head a field of five California-bred or sired fillies and mares going six furlongs in Sunday’s $100,000 Spring Fever Stakes at Santa Anita.Bred in California and owned in-part by Terry Lovingier, Show It N Moe It powered to a 3 ¼ length allowance win over S Y Sky at 6 ½ furlongs here on Jan. 10 and appears poised to enjoy her best season at age four.Although well beaten Jan. 10, S Y Sky bounced back with a solid gate to wire victory down Santa Anita’s hillside turf course in the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf Sprint on Jan. 26, winning by a half length and garnering her third state-bred stakes victory. For older fillies and mares, the Spring Fever Stakes is part of the lucrative Golden State Series, which is sponsored by the CTBA.SHOW IT N MOE ITOwner:  Tom London, Terry Lovingier & Terry C. ZondloTrainer:  Gary SherlockA big, rangy filly by Lovingier’s Grace Upon Grace, out of his Ide mare, Robitica, she’s been a joy to behold through 18 career starts, which have produced a record of 5-4-4 and earnings of $375,604.  Fifth, beaten five lengths two starts back by talented Spiced Perfection in the state-bred Betty Grable Stakes going seven furlongs at Del Mar Nov. 11, Show It N Moe It bounced back with a tremendous effort on Jan. 10 and will vie for favoritism with S Y Sky on Sunday.  A winner of four out of 10 Santa Anita starts and in the money in eight of them, Show It N Moe appears headed to graded stakes competition if she runs big in the Spring Fever.S Y SKYOwner:  Nick AlexanderTrainer:  Phil D’AmatoDespite sustaining a career threatening soft tissue injury at age two, this Nick Alexander homebred 5-year-old mare by Grazen, out of the Sky Mesa mare Sky Marni, has banked $457,320 from her nine lifetime starts.  Although she’d been favored in seven out of her previous eight starts, the public backed away from her in the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf Sprint Jan. 26, sending her off at a lukewarm 2-1 versus seven rivals.  Although she sports the biggest bankroll in the field and an outstanding resume that reads 9-5-3-1, a return to the main track and return engagement with Show It N Moe It would appear to make the Spring Fever a tougher assignment than her most recent stakes score on turf.THE $100,000 SPRING FEVER STAKES WITH JOCKEYS & WEIGHTS IN POST POSITION ORDERRace 8 of 9 Approximate post time 5 p.m. PTShow It N Moe It–Rafael Bejarano–122Coco Kisses–Joel Rosario–120S Y Sky–Joe Talamo–122Barbara Beatrice–Tiago Pereira–122Into Rissa–Geovanni Franco–120First post time for a nine-race card on Sunday is at 1:00 p.m. For additional information, please visit or call (626) 574-RACE.last_img
