Sunderland blow! Roma legend tells club NOT to sell Edin Dzeko to Black Cats

first_img1 Roma should avoid selling Edin Dzeko to Sunderland, according to club legend Sebastiano Nela.The former Manchester City forward managed to find the net just ten times in his first season for Roma, sparking rumours over his future in the Italian capital.Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce is keen on luring Dzeko to the Stadium of Light to partner Jermain Defoe next season and contact between the two clubs has reportedly been made.But ex-Roma full-back Nela, who made over 250 appearances for the club, has urged manager Luciano Spalletti to persist with the Bosnian.He told Tutto Mercato: “I think Spalletti is the man to give him a second chance.“Historically it is always a struggle in the first year and in the season just ended he suffered a bit in his relationship with [Francesco] Totti.“To fumble with him is the wrong move, indeed, because to find a player of that level is really complicated.” Former Man City striker Edin Dzeko scored ten goals for Roma last season last_img
